Google will now allow you to listen to results as podcasts

Google has begun testing a feature called Audio Overviews, which uses Gemini artificial intelligence to read summaries aloud to users in search results on mobile devices. This feature is designed for those who want to listen to information more easily or simply prefer audio content to reading.

Context

The feature is available through Google Labs and appears in certain queries when the system determines that it is useful—for example, a "Generate Audio Overview" button appears under the "People also ask" section. Once an audio clip of up to 40 seconds has been generated, it is displayed directly in the search results, along with links to sources and other information.

This essentially extends Google's existing audio content development on platforms such as NotebookLM and Gemini, only this time the feature is presented in a simpler and faster format suitable for widespread use. In addition, users can rate the recordings, helping to improve the system in the future.

What does this mean?

This solution allows information to be consumed in a podcast-style format – conveniently while driving, traveling, or performing other tasks. Google is taking another step toward a more accessible and versatile search experience, where AI voice becomes an equivalent alternative to text.

HEADLINES

  • Midjourney has been accused of wrongdoing: Major Hollywood studios, including Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Universal, have filed a lawsuit against the AI image generation platform Midjourney, accusing it of massive copyright infringement for using their characters without permission. This is the first such large-scale Hollywood lawsuit against an artificial intelligence company, which could lead to important legal decisions for the entire AI industry.

  • Reddit in second place: Reddit has become the second most popular source in Google AI reviews after Quora. This is said to be solely due to its $60 million partnership with Google to use content to train AI. However, most visitors come unregistered, do not share content, and do not advertise anything, so although visibility is growing, the real benefit to the community remains limited.

  • Fake therapists: Law enforcement groups have filed a complaint with the US Federal Trade Commission, accusing Meta and Character.AI of having their therapeutic chatbots pretend to be licensed therapists, providing fake license numbers, and promising confidentiality, even though this violates their own rules. The complaint alleges that such behavior could pose a threat to public safety and could be considered the illegal provision of medical services.

  • Barbie creators collaborate with OpenAI: Mattel, known as the creator of Barbie, Hot Wheels, and Uno games, is teaming up with OpenAI to develop toys and interactive experiences powered by generative artificial intelligence. The first product is expected to be released by the end of 2025. In addition, Mattel employees will have access to ChatGPT Enterprise to leverage creativity and innovation in both new product designs and internal processes.

AI in practice: How to create your content strategy based on the most popular videos?

As the saying goes, "there's no need to reinvent the wheel," so when creating a content strategy, you can rely on videos uploaded by others that are already performing well when creating your own content. This can be applied to various content formats – whether writing blogs, social media posts, or creating other videos.

We will discuss how to use NotebookLM to create mind maps based on videos and how to use Perplexity to research the most popular videos in your desired field.

Step #1: Getting Started

Go to NotebookLM, log in, and click "Create New" to start your project.

Step 2: Insert a link

Under Links, select YouTube and insert the link to the selected video.

By the way, Notebook will automatically provide a summary of the video, and you can choose what else you want to do with the inserted link.

Step 3: Create a mind map

Click on the "Mind Map" button below the video summary and wait for the tool to generate a mind map for you. The mind map will appear in the lower right corner.

You can click on the arrows to expand the mind map. This will give you almost ready-made social media posts (e.g., "What is AI?") that you can polish and expand, or blog and video structures and main ideas.

Open several YouTube links on the same topic at once to get even more detailed mind maps.

Step 4: Use Perplexity

If Notebook data is not enough, use Perplexity.

Use the Labs feature to enable advanced research (unfortunately, this feature is currently only available to Pro users). How to do it?

Sign in to Perplexity Pro and click on the light bulb icon to activate Labs mode. This will give you access to experimental features that allow for more detailed analysis, including tracking thematic trends, in-depth content and channel research, and automatic data summary generation.

Enter your query text, e.g., "Analyze viral YouTube videos and successful channels in AI to identify what video formats and structures generate the most engagement (likes, comments, shares)."

When formulating your initial query, focus on the specific metrics you want to improve. As always, the more precise your query, the more useful the results will be.

Wait 8–12 minutes for DI to analyze the most popular videos, channel metrics, and engagement patterns of successful creators.

Review the detailed insights you receive and ask additional questions to get even deeper analysis.

So, use these two tools to create proven, engaging content.
