How to convince an employer that you are the best candidate with the help of AI?
Do you think DI understands your emotions yet? It turns out that sometimes even better than humans!

In today's newsletter:
A study on the “human” capacity of AI.
Who is Claude Hooks?
How to get a job much easier with AI?
A new study raises the question - has AI already surpassed us in our understanding of emotions?
Is artificial intelligence already better at recognising emotions than humans? A new Swiss study shows that models such as ChatGPT-4, Gemini 1.5 Flash and Claude 3.5 Haiku recognise emotional signals more accurately than humans do - at least in the context of research.
Context
The researchers tested the AI skills using five emotional intelligence tests, in which the models chose the “correct” answer 81% of the time, while humans chose the “correct” answer only 56% of the time. Interestingly, the same models also created new test questions that were judged by experts to be equivalent to the originals.
However, before celebrating the superiority of the AI, it is important to remember that in real life, emotions are not as clear as they are in closed-ended test options. As soon as there is a cultural context, an ambiguous situation or other circumstances, the accuracy of the AI drops. So the AI works well in ideal conditions, but in reality it is still wrong.
What does this mean?
Although AI does not yet feel emotions in the same way as a human, it is getting better at recognising emotional signals and this is already being put into practice. For example, the WhatsApp assistant for truck drivers in Brazil recognises stress cues from voice messages and offers help when the driver needs it most.
So while it still takes time to learn how to feel, if the AI is able to recognise emotions well enough to help in real-life situations, that's a major step forward.

Microsoft unveils MAI Diagnostic Orchestrator, an artificial intelligence system that diagnoses even the most complex medical cases four times more accurately than experienced doctors! This is a significant step towards medical superintelligence. This system, combined with the OpenAI model, correctly solved 85.5% of complex cases, and did so more efficiently and cheaper than doctors, reducing the amount of redundant tests.
Crime: A US judge partially ruled in favour of Anthropic, allowing the use of legally purchased and digitised books for AI training, deeming it fair use. The ruling only applies to books that the company bought and scanned itself. Anthropic is still facing a separate trial over allegations that it may have used millions of illegally downloaded books.
AI in practice: how to convince an employer that you are the best candidate with the help of AI?
Almost everyone needs a job and, whatever it is, you can't usually do without a good performance in an interview. Many people already know how to write a cover letter or improve their CV with ChatGPT, but how do you survive that face-to-face interview? Here are some tips!
Step #1: Introduce the tool to the situation
Start by telling your tool of choice, say ChatGPT or Claude, that you've received an interview invitation with company X and need help preparing. Give the context:
Paste the job description
Attach your curriculum vitae (CV) and cover letter
Share what you are most anxious about the interviews. You can also tick the type of questions that you find most difficult.
If you know exactly what kind of help you need, ChatGPT is a great option, and if you don't know yourself, Claude will be better able to help you with the initial questions.
Step #2: Find out more about the company
HR or the interviewer will often check to see how much you've done with their company:
“What do you know about us?”
“Why do you want to work here?”
“Why would you be a good candidate?”
They will also ask “What questions do you have for us?” This is where Perplexity comes in.
Of course, if the company is Lithuanian and small, Perplexity is unlikely to provide much information, but it's worth trying and getting ideas anyway. Ask the following query:
"I'm interviewing with X company. Can you give me an overview of what they do, what makes them a good place to work, and some smart, specific questions I can ask the interviewer at the end?"
Once you have the information you need, go back to ChatGPT or Claude.
Step #3: Find out the interview questions and answers
Once you have provided all the necessary context to ChatGPT, ask the following prompt: “Based on the info I provided, can you generate likely interview questions and help me prep strong answers?”
You can type your answers after each question or record your voice using the microphone function to help maintain authenticity.
Then ask the tool to evaluate each answer and try again if they need improvement.
By the way, if you use ChatGPT Plus, you can create your own GPT specifically for job searches and interview practice - this way, the GPT will know your strengths and weaknesses better and you won't have to start from scratch every time.
Step #4: Get criticism
Tools such as Yoodli, InterviewAI or VMock allow you to practise in video format and then give feedback on your speaking speed (too fast or too slow), analyse your verbal and non-verbal communication and tell you whether your answers will impress the employer.
You can also use these tools to simply film yourself answering the good answers provided by ChatGPT and see what kind of criticism you get.
